Plan a home, floor by floor

Sketch a whole home, floor by floor: put the rooms where you want them, add the doors and windows, see it in three dimensions, and send the plan to Noble's Crest.

  1. Start

From an empty plot, from a plain starter home — a cottage, a house on two floors, a ranch over a basement — or from one of the two houses the home page walks through, to change as you like.

  2. Put the rooms in place

Add rooms by what they are for and drag them into place. Where two rooms meet the planner puts a wall between them; open one to the next with no wall at all. Add a floor above, or a basement.

  3. Doors and windows

Pick a side of a room and put a door, an opening or a window in it, at the width you want. See the house in three dimensions: one floor, the floors apart, or the whole house.

  4. Stairs, finishes and furniture

Put in a straight, L or U stair and the planner works out its steps and cuts the floor above. Choose each room's floor and walls and the outside's finish, and furnish the rooms to see how they fit.

  5. Walk through it

Walk from room to room and up the stairs in the 3D view, at your own eye height, to see the house as you would live in it, and take a picture of it as you go.

  6. Keep it, or send it to us

The summary sets out every room with its size and area, and the doors and windows by size; keep it as a PDF, with a picture from the 3D view. Send it with a note and we reply to arrange a conversation; or save it and come back by its link.

What it is, plainly

  • It is a planning tool for a first sketch. A plan made with it is a starting point for a conversation, not a finished design, a survey, or a statement that a house meets any code.
  • These are the usual sizes for planning a house, used here for illustration. A plan made with them is a starting point for a conversation: it is not a specification, not a check against any building code, and not a price.
  • Sizes and areas are measured to the middle of the walls, as plans at this stage usually are.
  • There are no prices in it. What a home costs depends on the land, the materials and the work: that is a conversation about your project, not a number on a page.
  • The starter homes are plain plans drawn for the planner. They are not houses Noble's Crest has built.
  • Our two houses are the ones the home page walks through, drawn as the planner draws a house: their rooms as the site's plans show them, each door and window at a size the planner has.
  • To plan the kitchen itself, cabinet by cabinet, use the kitchen planner.
  • Drawing and the 3D view work best on a computer or a tablet. On a phone you can draw the plan, read the summary and send it.

And for the kitchen itself

To plan a kitchen cabinet by cabinet, in a room of its own, there is a planner for that too.
